Patricia Duke, 63 from Fremont is able to fulfil her life-long dream of travelling after winning a $555,555 lottery prize with the California Lottery.

Duke purchased her $5 Power 5’s Scratchers ticket at Safeway, which is located at 39100 Argonaut Way in Fremont. After realising she’d won, she put the ticket in a safe as she didn’t want to risk carrying around something worth half a million in her purse. She stated “I haven’t slept for almost a week, the excitement wore me out a little bit”.

Duke is a daycare operator, and with this money she’s now able to pay off her bills and retire according to her wishes. In the future, she and her husband have plans to visit many spectacular landmarks, such as Disneyland- where they have a seasonal pass and Niagara Falls is also on the list.
